About the Position:

A small Critical Access Hospital in the Pacific Northwest seeking a Director of Quality. “Patients are our passion” is the mission of this CAH and it is important that the Director cares about the people of the community as well. This role is an exciting opportunity for a Quality professional to grow into a Director position. Clinical department leadership experience and a strong knowledge base are a must. Accreditation and Regulatory survey experience is required and a strong ability to interpret and analyze data is a highly preferred. The position oversees all of Quality, Risk Management, Patient Safety and Infection Prevention for the hospital including many outpatient services, 12 clinics, urgent care, and rural health clinics. Strong ability to conduct gap analysis and bring evidence based practice into the division is necessary. Lean/Six Sigma training, Master’s degree or Juris Doctorate, and TeamSTEPPS certification is preferred.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in healthcare related field
  • Strong clinical background/knowledge
  • Experience successfully leading a Quality or Risk Management department
  • CPHRM, CPHQ, CPPS required within 18 months of hire
  • Strong organizational, planning and data interpretation/analysis skills

About the Hospital:

This critical access hospital is not a typical one – it is very busy with lots of clinics. With just under 30 beds, this CAH has more than 60 providers. The hospital is financially stable and because they are locally owned, policies get approved locally as well.

About the Location:

The Pacific Northwest is a beautiful area that experiences all four seasons. The area, located less than an hour from skiing and situated near numerous national forests, is ideal for an outdoor enthusiast. It sits on the edge of one of the largest, enclosed circular valleys in the United States, with over a million acres of fertile soil surrounded by snow-capped mountain peaks and offers a unique blend of country-casual and urban culture, thanks in part to the presence of Eastern Oregon University.
