A Case Study

Home \ Interim Director of Infection Prevention, 400 Bed Two-Hospital Regional System, New England

The Situation
This two-hospital system, faced with a retiring Director of Infection Prevention, has had the permanent position open for 18 months. With a The Joint Commission window coming up in a few months, the system’s Chief Operating Officer asked for an interim Director experienced with a similar system, and strong on Infection Prevention reportables, to tighten their program leading into the Survey.

The Search
Roman asked for a three week exclusive window to conduct the interim search. Using our extensive database of qualified candidates, Roman was able to present two qualified candidates to the client within three days, both of whom matched the COO’s desired qualities.

The Solution
The placed candidate, who was hired one week after the exclusive window opened, has extensive experience both leading and collaborating at the system level to achieve desired outcomes. She had previously managed a six hospital system with 11 FTEs and has successfully led three different facilities through TJC Surveys. Despite her extensive management experience, she has maintained a hands-on leadership style and is a perfect fit for our client system.
